Fearless Confidence

Let me ask you: If one day, your car broke down in the middle of the road, who would you call?

No doubt I would call the person that I knew so clearly he/she could save me. Can be my dad, a friend, or a mechanic.

Let me ask you again: If you found out that you’ve lost your wallet, who would you call first?

This first person that came instantly into your mind, obviously is the person you knew by heart that he/she could help solve your problem.

Have you ever wonder; why we go to the doctor when we’re sick?...

Human nature urge us to go to the person that we trusted most whenever we are in trouble. Yet, have you ever wonder what makes you trust him/her so much?... Trust develops because we knew that person’s character; we knew that he/she cares for you, loves you; we knew how he/she will react when we ask them for something. To have a ‘fearless confidence’ in somebody, meaning that you need to have a really deep & strong relationship with that person to know that you can count on him/her 100%.

Growing up, I always felt I am the blessed one. I have lots of crazy dreams & goals, and some might seem a little too ambitious to achieve. Yet, tbh, I was never afraid. I’ll somehow have the guts to just do it, even if I screwed up in the end. (i.e.: To take on the Director role in our short-film FYP) This fearless confidence comes from the TRUST I have in God.

I understand that the concept of “TRUST GOD” may seem a little vague to most of you, cause even as I grow older, I find it harder to maintain this trust. I’m a person which you need to show me A-Z, before you want me to start A. Yet trusting God, having FAITH is a total opposite concept. God says go, you go, even when it doesn’t make sense. But that’s the fun part of it, God amazed me again and again, that trusting Him is never wrong. This is how I gain that fearless confidence.

The little things in life. For example, the good weather, the parking spot, the instant healing, the provision, the favorite song of mine on the radio when I’m at a bad mood, etc. I knew that He is a God that cares so, so much for His sons & daughters, prayers as big as provide me a car to as small as Lord, I need a parking right in front the shop, He answers. Look, don’t get confused, my confidence doesn’t come from what God did for me, is from who He is. God’s is GOOD, and His nature is to LOVE, CARE, BLESS.

For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation. - Psalm 100:5

"…I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." - John 10:10b

How can I be so sure of who God is? The same theory of how humans build relationships. We spent time with each other, trying to understand more about each other, talk & listen to one another. Not sure if you heard this before, “Christianity is not a religion, is your relationship with God.”

A typical question: If a stranger and a best friend of yours are drowning in the river, who would you save first? Sounds a bit cruel, but let’s be realistic, of course my friend first!

…Anyone who wants to come to Him must believe that God exists and that He rewards those who sincerely seek Him. Hebrews 11:6b

I know by reading, seems like it is easy to do, but I have to say that it’s hard. The world has a lot of distractions and temptations trying to stand between you and God. My biggest challenge now is to not let the celebrities/idols that I like overtook God’s place in my life & heart. Hence, I said is very important to spend time with God, to build that relationship, to let Him to remind us of His goodness & faithfulness, never forgetting that He is God, He gave us all of Him and He deserves the same.

"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me." - Revelation 3:20

When your relationship with God is deep & strong enough, you will automatically gain that COURAGE to do many things, because you knew that with God, ALL things are possible. When God is at the 1st place in your heart, you will have this PEACE & FEARLESS CONFIDENCE, knowing that no matter what you do, the sky will not fall because God is with you. (Trust me, it feels really good to have that ‘fearless confidence’, you feel like you could conquer the world!)

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. – Matt 6:33
