Unnecessary Worries

Have you ever tried fixing something yourself, and in the end, you still have to let the pros do it?

I was watching YouTube on my phone, like all the other nights before bed. Then guess what, it just froze/hanged on a scene, no matter how I touched the screen, clicked the power button, tried charging it, still no respond. So I left it charging and went to bed, hopefully next morning it will be back to normal. Yet, my mind was all about the phone, already thinking of all the possibilities… What if it can’t be fix? Should I get a new phone? What if it needs time to fix? Where to get a back-up phone? What if it needs to be reformat? I haven’t get to back-up my files!... Tons of “What if?”. I woke up at 5am the next morning and realized it’s still the same scene as last night. (Ugh!) So I Googled (like most of us would do), then it says click the power button and the volume up button together until the brand logo appears. I did it, but nothing change, hence, I gave up. I started searching online for new phones (just in case). 10am, I brought it to the phone shop, then the guy did the same thing I found from Google. And guess what, my phone came alive!? Problem solved! (in less than 5 mins)

You see the thing that I want to say here? If I could just trust that the technician can fix this, I probably could have worried less, slept more.

Another example. I locked myself outside the room with my keys inside. Then, I remember back then when this happens (yea, it’s not the first time I lock the keys inside), dad uses a knife/credit card to unlock the door, so I tried it myself. Half an hour later, door is still locked. In the end, I called the locksmith, and he came, unlocked my door. Everything was done within 20 mins. I could have get into my room 30mins earlier if I called the locksmith earlier.

How many of us are like this? Sometime when we face a problem, we try to fix it ourselves, and when we couldn’t solve it, we get panic, worry, anxious, etc. In the end, we seek help, and the pros get it done in a blink of an eye. Don’t get me wrong, solving your own problem is a good attitude to have, but when there’s someone that can solve the problem better, easier, faster, why not just leave it to them or seek help from them at the first place?

If you’ve read my previous blog - Am I Making the Right Choice?, you'd knew that I quit my job last July. What I didn’t wrote in there, was the mental & emotion struggles I went through before I make that decision, and the fears & worries after.

Have you ever been in a situation/condition/environment that you dislike/hated so much, yet, you can’t do anything to leave/change it because you are too fearful about what’s after?

No matter is before or after, I have to admit that the worries are real, don’t neglect it, embrace it, at the same time, seek for help. There are a lot of times, I actually knew the answer since my first prayer about it. But me being human, stubborn and always wanted to try it my way first. (sounds familiar?) So I ended up fall between two stools. Yet, God never fail to dare me each day to trust Him. I love this song called Dancing On the Waves.

"We'll be walking on water, dancing on the waves."

"I set every star into place, so you would remember My Name."

In my daily devotion with God, He patiently waited for me to listen, show me through His Words that He is here for me, reassure me that there's nothing (no-thing) He can't solve; so when I fully trust in Him, all my fears & worries seem to be so unnecessary.

In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul. - Psalms 94:19

I hope by reading this, before you start worrying about something, perhaps, you could calm down, and know that there’s someone you can entrust your problems or issues with, because with God all things of the world will seem insignificant.
